Getting traffic to a blog from search engines or from social media is not a great thing, anyone who knows a little about blogging and SEO can achieve that in a few days.
If getting traffic is so easy, why aren’t everyone millionaires? 
This kind of traffic which is easy to get is what I would like to call “Flash in the Pan“. Usually this kind of traffic results in a few thousand hits in a day and goes back to normal of few hundred hits the next day.

Consistent traffic means getting high amounts of traffic each and everyday and not just on some days.This kind of consistent traffic is not easy to achieve if you have news blogs, tech blogs etc. But it is easy to achieve if your blogging tips blogs, celeb news blogs etc.
Consistent traffic is much harder to achieve than flash in the pan traffic.So a lot of work needs to be put in before you see a consistently good amount of traffic to your blog.
